How do I become a Buteyko practitioner?
Buteyko International practitioner training is open to
persons involved in conventional or complementary health therapy. A
basic understanding of human physiology combined with a caring personality
is required .
What does the Buteyko training
entail? There will be approximately 12 months training
divided into distance learning and intensive training. The course
will be divided into 2 modules: Theoretical and Practical.
The Theoretical Module: Upon registration and
acceptance, you will be sent our in-depth Buteyko training manual and
training DVD. You will also be provided with articles, case studies
and journals for you to research. You will be given 3 months to
study these
The Practical Module: There are two stages
to the practical module. Step One: You will attend a
10-day intensive training course. Within this you will be taught the
following:

Step Two: You will be
assessed on what you learned during Step One and after you have
taught students for a period of 6 months, you will then be asked to
attend a follow-up session where you will be accredited by
ButeykoInternational and the Buteyko Clinic of Moscow.
Who is the Buteyko practitioner trainer? Patrick
McKeown was an asthmatic for 25 years until he applied the Buteyko
Clinic Method. He was accredited as a Buteyko practitioner by Professor
Buteyko in 2002 and is one of just a few people in the Western world
holding this. He has taught the Buteyko method to many people and his work has been featured on national and international media on numerous
occasions. Patrick is also the author of three books - Asthma

founded the Buteyko Clinic Method? Buteyko Clinic Method was
founded by respiratory physiologist Konstantin Buteyko in 1952. The
Buteyko Clinic, founded in 1988 by Professor Buteyko,was one of the
